Nepal is bordering by China to the north and India to the south, east and west. For a relatively small country, the Nepali landscape is uncommonly diverse, ranging from the humid Terai in the south to the lofty Himalayas in the north. Nepal boasts eight of the worlds ten highest mountains, including Mount Everest. Kathmandu is the capital and largest city.
Nepal is also poor and underdeveloped country, with most of its population relying on small-scale agriculture. Volunteers can work in a range of projects with local people. Volunteers will experience the traditional way of life, the culture and the beauty of Nepal, while engaging in an exchange of ideas and work practices in the poorest communities. Working as a volunteer in Nepal is a great way to contribute to one of the worlds most beautiful countries. As a volunteer in Nepal you also gain a unique insight in to Nepalese culture and daily life as well as getting to know both local people and other volunteers. In order to volunteer it is not necessary to have specific skills just a desire to give something back on your gap year.

Nepal has always been a popular tourist destination when people from around the world visit Asia; it is not only the fact that Nepal is a land of many mysteries, contrasts, and tranquility, but also because it possesses some of the most beautiful casinos in South Asia. In fact, South Asians themselves travel to Nepal especially to indulge in the casino excitement and entertainment. Asia has been enjoying gambling since ancient times; one can even observe this in famous paintings and sculptures of kings and queens indulging in the temptation gambling provides. Therefore, it is with little surprise that Nepal, even though is not a large country, has a vast number of casinos all over its territory.
Nepal casinos are known never to close on any day of the year and thus, you can never be turned down when you are looking for lady luck to smile your way. Nepal casinos allow only those above the age of 18 to gamble or drink alcoholic beverages; if you don’t prove your age with valid photo identification, you may be asked to leave the casino’s premises immediately. Katmandu, the capital city of Nepal, hosts one of the largest and most famous casinos in the country, the Shangri La. With over 50,000 square feet, the Shangri La offers everything you could ever wish to play, from the simple slot machines to all the famous international games such as poker, roulette, blackjack, and craps. The Shangri La also likes to pamper its guests and offers cocktails and snacks on the house, as do most of the other Nepal casinos, as well. Be sure you always fully understand the laws and house rules, however, in order to avoid misunderstandings.

Nepal enjoys the distinction of being the only Hindu Kingdom in the world. However, there is a harmonious blending of Hinduism and Buddhism. Nepal, a sovereign independent Kingdom, is bounded on the north by the Tibetan Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China, and on the east, south and west by India. The length of the Kingdom is 885km east-west and its breadth varies from 145-241km northsouth. The country can be divided into three main geographical regions.
Nepal has always been an independent and sovereign country with glorious history, culture and tradition that date back to time immemorial. Before the campaign of national integration was launched by King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the Great, the Kathmandu Valley was ruled by the Malla Kings, whose contributions to art and culture are indeed great and unique. In 1768 AD, the Shah dynasty ascended the throne of the unified Kingdom. His Majesty King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev is the tenth King in the Shah dynasty. The new Democratic Constitution of the Kingdom was promulgated on November 9, 1990. Nepal is one of the founder members of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

Nepal is a narrow neck of land, bordered on three sides by India and capped by China in the north. The country is 800km long and 300km deep, with an area of 147,181km² and supports a population of about 27,000 people. Nepal is an exciting Adventure Travel Destination mainly because of the Himalayan Mountain range that forms its border with China.
There are also private art galleries and a national art gallery called NAFA in Kathmandu which exhibit and sell a variety of modern and traditional paintings. There is a vast selection of dining opportunities to be found in Kathmandu with many restaurants serving authentic Nepali food complete with ethnic ambience as well as a selection of Indian, Chinese, Continental, Japanese, Korean and Thai foods

Nepal is a sovereign independent, diverse ancient kingdom located between the North by the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China and, the East-South and West by India. If the country was divided by its 3 geographical regions you would experience the world’s deepest gorge called Kali-Gandaki and the highest point on earth, Mt. Everest, diversity that can not be matched anywhere else in the world.
